50 Years Ago: 1971
(from a photo caption) Pumpkins such as the one shown  this one grown by David Bugel of Boulder Drive, Auburn, tipping the scales at over 100 pounds, aren’t common. and so it is that Dave, 12 years of age and a student at Webster Junior High was pleased with his. The son of Mr and Mrs. Joseph Bugel, he got the seeds for which this and other sizable pumpkins from Dr. D. F. D. Russell of Leeds. And Halloween is just around the pumpkin patch.

25 Years Ago: 1996

The Farmington Historical Society will open the Titcomb House on Academy Street Saturday from 11 am to 2 pm for the Franklin County Leaf Peepers celebration. Residents may tour the house and view the present exhibit of high school graduate pictures. The exhibit provides an opportunity to compare what many local residents of Farmington today looked like when they graduated from the Farmington school system.
