We have a real horse race on our hands with the New England Clean Energy Connect project. It’s a race for information and trying to separate the hype from the truth.

I know that the corridor is going to provide good jobs as it’s built. I know that we need more energy and I like the clean energy that hydropower can provide. I also know that a lot of hype that I am hearing is coming from natural gas and other fossil fuel companies who don’t want clean energy because that cuts into their bottom line.

As we head down the home stretch in November and think about how we vote, be careful how you vote. I will be voting no on the referendum because I want this project to move forward, and a yes vote means it will be stopped.

Enough already. We have a good chance to cross the finish line. Let’s take it.
