Ahoy! The Maine Maritime Museum is home to the historic Percy & Small wooden shipyard and is a spot where you can watch traditional skills demonstrations and see exhibits, including A Sailor’s Treasure: Sea Chests & Curiosities and Sidney Chase’s “Eye.” Seafaring history is a rich one and the museum has a 20-acre waterfront campus bursting with it. Sail on in between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday for Community Day with free admission.
‘That’s What SHE Said!’

The latest comedy written by Footlights Theatre’s artistic director Michael J. Tobin is an absolute hoot. “That’s What SHE Said!” tells the tale of what happens when the ladies of Cooters Cleaners accidentally go live on the TV show ‘Shenanigans’ with their advice on life, love and sex. Tobin’s recipe for entertainment includes two cups of gossip, 1/4 cup of rumors, a pinch of drama and endless amounts of laughter.

New York City’s Royal Family Productions presents a humorous slice of heaven with its show “Holy Hans.” Based on the stories “The Emperor’s New Clothes,” “The Little Match Girl” and “The Princess and the Pea” by Hans Christian Andersen, native Mainer Chris Henry’s adaptation has been transformed into a 45-minute theater piece suitable for all ages. The show features movements created by Lorna Ventura and stars Rebecca Whitney Klein, Danny Gay and Erica Misilo.
Hike Bradbury Mountain

You don’t need to be Sir Edmund Hillary to tackle Bradbury Mountain, but you can still make it into a challenge by trekking your way up, over and around its many short trails like the 1-mile Northern Loop and the 1.5-mile Boundary Trail. Despite being under 500 feet high, the views are lovely, and you might catch site of a hawk in flight as they seem to love the area. Leashed dogs are welcome. Bradbury also offers 10 miles of single-track mountain bike trails and 5 miles of double-tracked trails.
