AUGUSTA — Cash McClure scored 36 points to lead the Maranacook boys basketball team to a 73-63 victory over Cony on Thursday.

After the Black Bears won by 39 points in the first game, they had to sweat it out in the rematch, and even trailed near the end of the third quarter before rallying to stay undefeated at 9-0. Joey Dupont added 11 points and Casey Cormier had nine for Maranacook.

Luke Briggs scored 23 points to lead Cony (6-4), and Brady Hopkins scored 12. Kyle Douin added nine.

 

MESSALONSKEE 48, LAWRENCE 42: Matt Parent scored 10 points to lead the Messalonskee boys basketball team to a victory.

Noah Wood, Alden Doran and James Smith each added nine points for the Eagles.

Zack Nickerson led the Bulldogs with 12 points, while Dylan Coombs added 10 points.

 

GIRLS BASKETBALL

 

LAWRENCE 40, MESSALONSKEE 34: Hope Bouchard scored a game-high 16 points to lead the Bulldogs to the win in Fairfield.

Alicen Higgins added nine points for Lawrence while Sarah Poli chipped in eight.

Messalonskee was led by Ashley Mullen with nine points and Brennan Doran with eight.

 

CARRABEC 47, MONMOUTH 46: The Cobras outscored the Mustangs 18-10 in the final quarter to earn the win in North Anson.

Cheyenne Cahill scored a game-high 20 points for Carrabec (8-2) while Lindsay Hamilton added 12.

Monmouth (1-1) was led by Emma Johnson with 11 points and Alexa Allen with nine.

FOREST HILLS 49, RANGELEY 42: Taylor Fontaine led the Tigers with 17 points in a  win in Bingham.

Grace Allen had 14 points for Forest Hills.

Emily Eastlack has 16 points for Rangeley.

 

BOOTHBAY 44, RICHMOND 32: Jaclyn Crocker led the Seahawks (3-5) with 16 points and nine rebounds in a win over the Bobcats (0-4) at Boothbay Harbor.

Glory Blethen added nine points and 11 rebounds.

Lila Viselli and Sophie Wells each scored 10 points for Richmond.

 

BOYS HOCKEY

 

CONY/HALL-DALE/MONMOUTH/ERSKINE 4, CAMDEN HILLS 2: Tyrell Sousa scored a pair of goals to lead the Rams to the victory in Hallowell.

Jacob Godbout and Jakob Varney also scored for the Rams, while Sousa, Luke Johnson and Quincy Tobias had assists. Matty Shea got the win in net.

Charlie Griebel and Jakob Johnson had the goals for Camden Hills.
