SKOWHEGAN — A Skowhegan woman was treated for minor injuries over the weekend after her SUV slid through an intersection and hit a guardrail, according to police.
Jo Hazelwood, 20, was driving a 2004 Toyota Highlander southbound on Eaton Mountain Road when the accident occurred.
As Hazelwood’s vehicle entered the intersection at East River Road, it slid past the stop sign, crossed East River Road and hit a guardrail and a Central Maine Power Co. utility pole, according to Chief David Bucknam of the Skowhegan Police Department.
Bucknam said Monday officers responded to the single-vehicle crash at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
Hazelwood was taken to Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan, where she was treated and released.
Speed and road conditions were considered factors in the accident, police said.
