CONWAY, S.C. — Billie Rogers, of Avon, was one of more than 120 Coastal Carolina University students who presented their research at the Undergraduate Research Competition April 16 and 17. Students represented various majors and research topics, and they presented either oral or poster presentations, according to a news release from the university.
An Anthropology and Geography major, Rogers presentation was titled “Native American People and their Adaptation to Late Holocene Sea Level Rise.”
The Undergraduate Research Competition is a spring tradition at the university that celebrates the accomplishments of CCU undergraduate researchers and provides a venue for the dissemination of student research. Undergraduate research includes original research and scholarly or creative works, so all disciplines are represented. All CCU undergraduate researchers are eligible and encouraged to submit abstracts to present research that they completed during the previous year. Presentations are judged within broad disciplinary categories and the top presentations for each category win cash awards.
