BINGHAM — The Valley boys basketball team will go into the playoffs on a winning streak.

The Cavaliers just had to work a little harder, and longer, than they anticipated to make that happen.

Valley erased a deficit going into the fourth quarter and then held off Greenville in overtime for a 68-62 victory in both teams’ regular season finale.

Joey Thomas had 21 points and seven assists for the Cavaliers (13-5), who hit nine 3-pointers but still found themselves down 41-37 going into the fourth. Spencer Hunnewell added 19 points and six rebounds, and Zach Walter scored 12 points on four 3-pointers while grabbing nine rebounds.

Camden Harmon hit four of Greenville’s 10 3-pointers en route to 24 points, while Noah Bilodeau added 14 points and Chris Caiazzo had 13 for the Lakers (8-10).

WINTHROP 65, RICHMOND 15: Cam Wood had 16 points to pace the offense for the Ramblers (17-1) as they grabbed a 21-2 first quarter lead and rolled past the Bobcats (5-13) at Winthrop.

During the contest Wood picked up the 1,000th point of his career, finishing the regular season with 1,009, while Sam Figueroa, Kevin Smith and Gavin Perkins contributed nine points apiece on the night.

Calob Densmore had seven points to lead the way for Richmond.
