The museum hosts multiple events in mid-July to celebrate its region’s timber heritage. This event features an Arts & Crafts Vendor Day, logging parade and logging festival, according to a news release from Kevin Cyr with the museum. The Arts and Crafts Vendor Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.
On Friday, people can listen to the Bob Greene Band at 2 p.m. Vendors booths will be open. There will be children’s activities, burying of the beans around 3 p.m. for the Bean Hole Dinner that will be served on Saturday, a cookout and a beer garden. Admission is free on Friday.
On Saturday, a logging parade will start at 10 a.m. along Rangeley’s Main Street, featuring loaded big rig logging trucks, floats and antique cars. This year’s parade theme is “Woodstock in the Woods.”

Those who want to create a float and march in the parade can call parade coordinator Linda Sikes at 207-491-6566.
At the conclusion of the morning parade, the festival kicks off with opening ceremonies followed by hall of fame inductions, a bean hole Dinner, biscuits baked on reflector ovens, and the logging competition.
The competition events will include the axe throw, hot saw, crosscut, bow saw and underhand chop. Children’s activities include a barrel train ride, mini excavator, clowns, face painting and bounce house. Vendors, artisans and crafters will be there, too.
