OAKLAND — A furniture artist with a large social media following has opened a furniture store with her husband on Church Street in Oakland.

Kacha Furniture opened Friday at 58 Church St., just north of Messalonskee Lake. It’s operated by Katarina “Kacha” Hernandez and her husband, Carlos Hernandez.

Kacha Hernandez began creating custom-made furniture several years ago and she displays her work on social media platforms like Instagram, where she has more than 400,000 followers. She also holds workshops and other events for people looking to bring an artistic touch to their own furniture.
