PITTSFIELD — Trinity Leavitt and Keydaliz Rivera had two hits apiece as the Maine Central Institute softball team sent NYA to its first loss of the season with a 7-5 win in the first half of a doubleheader Saturday.

Leavitt also scored two runs for MCI (8-5), which plated four runs in the third inning. Pitcher Kassie Snowman scattered eight hits over five innings to earn the win.

Lily Rawnsley and Jordan Nash had two hits apiece for NYA (11-1).

In game two, Rawnsley threw a two-hitter as the Panthers won, 4-0.

Rawnsley struck out three batters and walked no one. At the plate she had two hits, including a triple, and scored a run. Teammate Sadie Morgan added two hits and an RBI.

Leavitt and Jyllian Riendeau had the hits for MCI.

MT. ABRAM 9, TELSTAR 2: Adnrianna Stinchfield struck out 11 batters, walked four and homered as the Roadrunners (4-8) sidestepped the Rebels (3-7) in Bethel.

Abi Wilcox and Ayanna Savage each had two hits for Mt. Abram.

Makenzie Eliot belted a two run-homer to centerfield in the sixth inning for the Rebels.

DIRIGO 14, CARRABEC 4: First baseman Trenton Hutchinson had five hits, knocked in three runs and scored five as the Cougars (8-3) scored an overwhelming victory over the Cobras (1-9) in North Anson.

The Cougars used 18 hits to subdue the Cobras.

Austin Adams also had for hits for Dirigo and Airick Richard went the distance on the mound, striking out four batters, walking one and giving up four this.
