The Waterville Public Library is scheduled to launch the 2023 Waterville Seed Library on Wednesday, March 29.
This free public resource features 30 different varieties, including tomato, pumpkin, summer lettuce mix and green beans.
While supplies last, garden seed packets can be picked up at the 73 Elm St. library, according to a news release from Tammy Rabideau at the library.
The seed library provides community members the resources to grow their own healthy, sustainable food at no cost. The seed library helps to reclaim seeds as a public resource and fosters a culture where local growing knowledge is easily shared.
The Waterville Seed Library is made possible through a partnership with the Colby Office of Civic Engagement, Waterville Public Library, FEDCO Seeds, and Johnny’s Selected Seeds.
