After hearing a story on Republicans wearing assault rifle pins in Congress, I am appalled that any congressional member who has had to deal with shootings in their state support these assault rifles. I am all for the “right to bear arms” Americans should have but I do not think an assault rifle should be in the same category as a pistol or revolver or even a hunting rifle.

The families who have lost people they loved to these weapons grieve all over this country and for Republicans to wear these pins is like a slap in the face to them. How thoughtless and self-serving to use this as a political ploy to wound people who are still grieving over the last several years.

Personally I think Congress should re-categorize these rifles as weapons of mass destruction.
