Do you have memories of the state basketball tournament at the Augusta Civic Center?

The annual high school basketball tournament is set to get underway this month, with much of the action taking place at the Augusta Civic Center.

That facility, at the same time, is marking five decades of hosting the tournament. It was constructed in 1972 and began hosting the basketball tourney the following year.

Our journalists have been busy working on a special series that will run Feb. 14-17 looking back at those five decades of history at the civic center. There have been a number of memorable games played at the venue over the years, and Mainers who have participated in the tournament or watched it have their share of memories, too.
