For the past several months as I have driven to Augusta and the interstate via Route 202, I was surprised to see the solar field being built and initially thought how awful it looked (like when the city cut down all those beautiful large trees lining the avenue).
Then I thought: Here is the city of Augusta, leading the way to the future of renewable energy. How visitors to the area would know that our capital city was doing its part to help slow global warming and reduce electric costs for its citizens.
Then I read today’s paper and realized maybe I was giving credit where credit wasn’t due (“State transportation officials vow better communication in wake of contentious interstate solar project in Augusta,” Dec. 6.).
