MONMOUTH — DFD Russell Medical Centers welcomes board-certified physician assistant Mayra Brink to the team.
Brink attended Franklin Pierce University where she completed her master’s in physician assistant studies with a special interest in pediatrics and women’s health. She obtained her bachelor’s in biology from Moravian College, graduating with honors, according to a news release from Laurie Kane-Lewis, chief executive officer.
Brink has been practicing family medicine in rural Maine for the past eight years. She brings a wealth of experience and expertise to DFD, particularly in child and adolescent care, women’s health, and family planning. Prior to her career as physician assistant, Brink served in the Vermont Army National Guard for 20 years as a combat medic. During her time in the military, she was responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of soldiers before and after deployment.
In her practice, Brink prioritizes compassion, education and preventative care.
“I believe in partnering with patients,” Brink said. “I also believe that preventive care is a pillar of a person’s health care plan. Educating patients and providing them with the information they need to make informed decisions is key to achieving the best outcome for each patient.”
Brink will be seeing patients at the DFD Russell Monmouth location.
