Maine Public Radio’s Maine Stage will be broadcast the first concert from Sebago-Long Lake Music Festival’s 50th season at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23. The concert was performed on July 12, 2022, at at Deertrees Theatre in Harrison.
The concert includes “The Lake Guide,” a piece commissioned by SLLMF to commemorate its 50th anniversary which was written by Beth Wiemann, a music professor at UMaine-Orono. Wiemann is an accomplished composer whose works have been performed around the U.S. and internationally by well-known ensembles.
Carol Madsen, Vice President of the Board of Trustees of SLLMF, remarked, “We are so proud of “The Lake Guide.”
The program includes:
DONIZETTI: Trio for Flute, Bassoon and Piano
BETH WIEMANN: “The Lake Guide” (2021), commissioned by the SLLMF
BEETHOVEN: Septet in E-Flat Major for Winds and Strings, Op. 20
Artists are Laura Gilbert, flute; Benjamin Fingland, clarinet; William Purvis, horn; Adrian Morejon, bassoon; Min-Young Kim, violin; Matthew Sinno, viola; Mihai Marica, cello; Jered Egan, double bass; and Mihae Lee, piano.
