I was looking at the news and the newspaper and learned that there are a lot of homeless people. They have nowhere to go to eat, shower, and stay warm, or to get help with the resources for housing and work. The shelter is always full and they turn people back to the streets with nowhere to go.
I think we should get together with city officials to see what ideas we can come up with to help the homeless to get off the street and better themselves. There are a lot of families that are on the street with little kids and they are afraid that the kids will get hurt or abused. There are a lot of people that cause crime during the winter to go to jail to stay warm and have something to eat.
I believe that there should be caseworkers going around to help the homeless to find homes and work. We could think about a building that has showers, food, and caseworkers for families. It’s a process and a lot to go through to get one. There are homeless people that don’t know where to go or what to do because they’ve never been homeless.
I’m afraid that someone will get hurt or killed. I think the representatives and the city might look into the homelessness situation and shelter options to see if there is anything they could do to help keep the people off the streets and in the shelter. I was wondering why the city or councilors try to evict the homeless from their camps when there is no room in the shelter or nowhere else to go. I believe instead of knocking buildings down the community could fix them for the single moms with kids or abused women that are homeless to have a place that fits their needs.
