FAIRFIELD — A suspect in an unspecified Winslow incident was apprehended “peacefully” Saturday morning at the Circle K truck stop on Center Road, police said.
Fairfield police said in a Facebook post at about 10 a.m. Saturday morning officers were on scene at the Circle K truck stop.
In a news release Saturday afternoon, Fairfield Police Department Public Information Officer Casey Dugas said the department had acted on information an individual involved in an unspecified Winslow incident might be at the Circle K “in a tractor trailer in the back parking lot.”
“Due to the nature” of that Winslow incident, Fairfield police said they worked with responding officers from Winslow Police Department, Waterville Police Department and the Maine State Police to secure the rear parking lot and set up a perimeter around the Circle K.
The Maine State Police Tactical Team and the Crisis Negotiation Team responded, as well, to the incident, and were able to reach a “peaceful conclusion,” Fairfield police said on their Facebook page. The teams apprehended the driver of the vehicle and turned the driver over to Winslow police.
Winslow police would not confirm the nature of the incident in question, nor the individual involved, and said they would release more details Sunday.
