AUGUSTA — The Lawrence girls soccer team earned its first win in two years Tuesday with a 1-0 victory over Cony.

Kylie Delile scored the game’s lone goal for Lawrence (1-3) on an assist from Zoie Ward as Zoe Hutchins made four saves in net. It was the first win since a 5-3 victory against Temple Academy on Oct. 22, 2020 for the Bulldogs, who were 0-13 last year prior to an 0-3 start this year.

Goalkeeper Emma Robbins made four saves for Cony, which fell to 0-4 on the season with the loss.

 

RICHMOND 14, VALLEY 0: Eight different players scored for the Bobcats, who claimed a decisive win in a Class D South clash with the Cavaliers in Bingham.

Breonna Dufresne had four goals an assist for Richmond (3-1), which added two goals apiece from Eden Balduf and Lila Viselli. Katie Johnson, Anri Osaka and Sophia Wells added a goal and an assist each for the Bobcats with Kara Briand and Izzy Stewart bagging a goal apiece and Alexa Kelsey providing two assists.

Kara Bigelow had 19 saves for Valley, which fell to 0-4.

 

MT. BLUE 5, SKOWHEGAN 0: K.K. Daggett opened the scoring less than three minutes into the game and finished with three goals and two assists as the Cougars defeated the River Hawks in Farmington.

Emma Dunn and Daggett took turns assisting and scoring Mt. Blue’s first two goals, then Daggett scored from Callahan Towle and assisted on Vivian Cormier’s goal to round out a 4-0 first half for the Cougars (4-0). Alaya Smith assisted on Daggett’s second-half goal that completed her hat trick.

Caitlin Burke made three saves for Mt. Blue, and Natalie Cooke stopped 12 shots for Skowhegan (0-4).

BOYS SOCCER

 

GARDINER 3, LEAVITT 1: The Tigers pulled away with a pair of goals in the second half and defeated the Hornets in Turner.

Chase Kanaris, Kian Alves and Dylan Staples scored goals for Gardiner (3-0), which led 1-0 at halftime. Casey Paul assisted on two of the goals. Goalie Connor Fairservice stopped nine shots.

Logan Berube scored the lone goal for Leavitt (0-3). Hornets goalie Vanya Bezhenar faced an onslaught of 27 shots and finished with 24 saves.

FIELD HOCKEY

 

LAWRENCE 3, LEAVITT 0: Maddie Niles notched a hat trick to lead the Bulldogs to a win over Hornets in Fairfield.

Alicen Higgins and Elizabeth Crommett added assists for Lawrence (5-0).

Leavitt fell to 3-1.

 

CONY 1, MT. BLUE 0: Abby Morrill scored the lone goal on an assist from Maci Freeman as the Rams took down the Cougars in Augusta.

Madison Chavarie added a key defensive save for Cony (2-3). Goaltender Ella Mayhew made eight saves for the Rams in the win.

Mt. Blue fell to 1-4 as Avery Maxim recorded eight saves.
