Area schools recently received Global Partners LP grants to help fund science, technology, engineering and mathematics programs through Global’s collaboration with ExxonMobil’s Educational Alliance Program.
To support student learning in Maine, the organization has donated $4,000 to eight schools, including Lisbon High School, Gray-New Gloucester High School, King Middle School in Portland, Mt. Blue High School in Farmington, Morse High School in Bath, Manchester School in Windham, Guy E. Rowe School in Norway and Great Salt Bay Community School in Damariscotta. The grants will be delivered by a Global Partners Territory Manager to each school. The schools are encouraged to capture new learning moments for their students, something ExxonMobil calls “Aha Moments.”
“We are so excited to help grow STEM programming for students in Maine” said Orion Breen, public affairs liaison with Global Partners, according to a news release from the Waltham, Massachusetts-based company. “Being involved in the Educational Alliance Program has been something we look forward to each year, and we’re happy to make investments in Maine communities where we live and work.”
