Three-decade performing artist Gary Backstrom, front man founder of New England-based jam band Jiggle the Handle, will deliver a Frampton Comes Alive! tribute at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, at Deertrees Theatre in Harrison.

Backstrom’s four-piece band will performs this concert tribute to famed English rock musician Peter Frampton, honoring one of the most successful live albums ever recorded. The band features Backstrom on vocals and guitar, Chris Nemitz on keys, guitars and voice, Everett Pendleton on bass and voice, and Peter Koeplin on drums. Backstrom has shared the stage and opened for many of rock music’s favorite celebrities, and performed on tour with Liberty Devito, (drummer for the Billy Joel band) with the symphonic rock group Piano Men, performing concerts with orchestras around the country.

Founded in 1936 as an opera house, Deertrees has been serving the Greater Maine region since 1936 offering an eclectic summer season of entertainment, featuring theatrical productions and comedies, family shows, concerts annually from June through early September. Deertrees is home to the Sebago-Long Lake Music Festival on Tuesday evenings in July, The Backstage Art Gallery featuring the works of local artists, and The Salt Lick Café, offering cabaret acts, small bites, beer and wine.

Tickets to Frampton Comes Alive! are $30 and are available at deertrees-theatre.org.
