The fourth concert of the Sebago-Long Lake Music Festival season will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, at Deertrees Theatre in Harrison. Each concert of this 50th Season features music of old masters as well as lesser known composers.
This week’s program includes:
HANDEL-HALVORSEN: Passacaglia in G Minor for Violin and Cello
FIALA: Duo Concertante for Oboe and Bassoon
POULENC: Trio for Oboe, Bassoon and Piano
BIZET: Selections from Jeux d’enfants for Piano Four-Hands, Op. 22
MENDELSSOHN: Piano Trio No. 2 in C Minor, Op. 66
Artists are Noah Kay, oboe; Gina Cuffari, bassoon; Keiko Tokunaga, violin; Bonnie Thron, cello; Yuri Funahashi, piano; and Music Director Mihae Lee, piano.
Long time artist with Sebago-Long Lake Music Festival, Yuri Funahashi is a long time Maine resident where she is Associate Professor of Music and Department Co-Chair of Colby College’s Music Department. Yuri also is cofounder and co-director of the Maine Mountain Chamber Music series. A graduate of The Julliard School with a Doctorate in Musical Arts, she has performed extensively in Europe, Japan, Canada and Australia and in many of the major halls in the U.S. including the Kennedy Center, Orchestra Hall in Chicago, the Music Center in Los Angeles, Jones Hall in Houston and the 92nd Street Y in New York City.  Yearly she is invited to return to SLLMF to perform Piano Four Hands with Music Director Mihae Lee. In addition, this summer, Funahashi will perform a Mendelssohn Piano Trio with violinist Tokunaga and cellist Thron.
