Do you think the closing of the Augusta Chipotle was an instance of ‘union-busting’ as workers claim?

Recently the workers of the Augusta chain restaurant spoke out about the poor conditions of the location and decided to unionize, now the business has closed its doors.

Last month workers at the Augusta restaurant delivered a letter of intent and petition to Chipotle management, saying they were forming a union. If successful, the workers could have been the first Chipotle to unionize in the country.

About 20 Chipotle workers rallied Tuesday evening outside the restaurant to protest the closure and draw attention to the dispute.

A release from the AFL-CIO, a federation of labor unions, said Chipotle’s plan to close the Augusta restaurant was “an egregious act of blatant union busting.”

But what do you think? Do you think this was the company’s way of undermining the choice for employees to unionize? Let us know what you think the poll and comments below.
