I’m responding to: “Mills widens funding advantage advantage in governor’s race,” (June 5). In this article, Alexandra Raposo, Mills’ campaign manager, said in a written statement: “Our fundraising success demonstrates that Maine people believe in Janet and her strong leadership.”
Is “strong leadership” what prompted Janet Mills to literally have people not be able to travel, unless they were going to work or the grocery store, during a portion of the COVID-19 pandemic? It was like we were transformed to a different land and time when the Soviets crossed the border to declare martial law. I had to carry a piece of paper stating that I was an early morning stock person, just in case the police questioned why I was outside past midnight. Ruling with an iron fist is not strong leadership, it is corruption of power.
Now, Raposo thinks that the Maine people will automatically reelect “Comrade Mills,” so we can imitate Communist rule the next time an opportunity of oppression presents itself. Also, just to be clear and distinct, Raposo stated: “She guided Maine through a global pandemic with nation-leading results.” Obviously Alexandra Raposo is exercising her political license to lie.
The Soviet Union is gone as so too the chances that the current governor will get reelected.
