Celtic Cabaret Concert Series returns with É.T.É from Quebec at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 15, at 49 Franklin in Rumford. With lovely vocal harmonies, deep groove, and rich instrumentation, É.T.É are an explosive trio on stage, transforming the nostalgia of a kitchen party into an unforgettable show experience that celebrates the joie de vivre of Québecois culture. With the experience gained with the tour of the first album, the young group presents a brand-new show around the theme of the rose.
É.T.É are Élisabeth (fiddle, step-dancing, vocals), Thierry (bouzouki, podorythmie, vocals), and Élisabeth (cello, vocals). The word été in French means summer – a fitting tribute to how their original, lively take on Québec traditional music is infused with a new vitality. Awarded the OPUS prize for “Discovery of the Year 2017-2018”, among many other accolades since their first album release in 2017, this trio is quickly winning over the hearts of listeners worldwide, young and old alike. They will present a concert where voices intertwine through impossible love songs, where the impressive playing of the violin, the Irish bouzouki and the cello is breathtaking and where the complicity of the performers with overflowing energy touches the souls of the listeners.
The three musicians offer bold and refined arrangements of pieces from the traditional Quebec and Acadian repertoire as well as original compositions. Co-founder, Elisabeth Moquin’s dynamism, her interpersonal skills, and her ease on stage, will captivate you. Multi-instrumentalist, Thierry Clouette has varied influences reflected in the many projects in which they participate both in front of the microphone and behind the console, especially with the Saligaude groups. Élisabeth Giroux took part in the world tour of the show Amjad with the dance company La La La Human Steps. Élisabeth regularly plays as a supernumerary with the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean Symphony Orchestra in addition to devoting herself to her creative projects and teaching. She has participated in the recording of more than twenty albums with different projects and artists since her debut.
