The Mahoosuc Community Band will play a concert at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 13, at the Bethel Common gazebo.
Patricia Boyle-Wight will direct the concert. The concert will include “Also Sprach Zarathustra” (Theme for 2001 movie) by Richard Strauss, “The Genius of Ray Charles” arranged by Michael Brown, “A Gershwin Portrait” arranged by John Higgins, “West Side Story” by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim, “A Walk in the Morning Sun” by Pierre LaPlante, “Birdland” by Josef Zawinak, “Music of the Beatles” arranged by Michael Sweeney, “Manhatten Beach March” by John Phillips Sousa, and “Selections from Chicago” by John Kander and arranged by Ted Ricketts.
Please bring a chair as the concert is outside on The Bethel Common. Donations will be accepted. The concert will be canceled if bad weather is predicted for that evening.
Mahoosuc Community Band practices every Monday night from 7 p.m.-8:45 p.m. in the basement of West Parish Congregational Church. Each member must be fully vaccinated with COVID vaccine prior to coming to a rehearsal and stay home if feeling ill. The band welcomes new members or people who haven’t picked up an instrument in a long time. Contact band president Scott Hynek for more information (hynek@roadrunner.com).
