WHITEFIELD — Memorial Day celebrations are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, May 30, at the Veteran’s Memorial behind the town office on Town House Road.

A program will follow at the fire station, according to a news release from the Whitefield Historical Society.

This year, “Remembering the Women, Part I,” specifically focusing on the nurses from Whitefield, will be presented. It will trace a line of public service from the Cottage Hospital that was on Town House Road to the local schools to the Army hospitals during World War II in the Pacific.
