MADISON — Rita Benoit struck out 14 batters to lead Hall-Dale to a 6-1 win over Madison in an anticipated rematch of last year’s Class C South title game.
Benoit added three hits at the plate for Hall-Dale (6-0).
Brooke McKenney struck out nine batters for Madison (6-1). Lilly Levesque had two hits.
WINTHROP 4, OAK HILL 2, 10 INNINGS: Lydia Rice and Maddie Perkins each had two hits as the Ramblers prevailed in 10 innings in Wales.
Lauryn Wood had nine strikeouts in the circle for Winthrop (4-3).
The Ramblers scored two runs in the top of the sixth to tie the game at 2-2. Winthrop scored twice more in the top of the 10th.
Oak Hill took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second when Amara Denis drove in both runs. She had three hits in the game while Sierra Lane had two hits.
Kelsey Young struck out eight for Oak Hill (3-3).
ST. DOMINIC 9, MT. VIEW 1; ST. DOMINIC 6, MT. VIEW 1: The Saints (7-0) took both five-inning games from the Mustangs (2-4), winning 9-1 in Game 1 and 6-1 in Game 2 in Auburn.
Kathleen Dean pitched a gem in Game 1, striking out 12 and allowing one hit in five innings.
The St. Dominic offense opened the first game scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning and scoring twice more in the second. The Saints tacked on three more runs in the fourth.
Sidney Dick had three hits for St. Dominic, and Cami Casserly and Bella Perryman also had multiple hits in the win. Dean stole three bases for the Saints, who totaled 12 steals.
Mt. View scored its lone Game 1 run in the top of the third.
In Game 2, Dean had a double to drive in two runs in a five-run fifth inning.
Casserly had two hits in the game while Perryman stole three bases. As a team, the Saints had nine stolen bases.
Dean also picked up the win, allowing one run on six hits and striking out 10 batters.
St. Dominic took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth, and Mt. View tied the game in the bottom of the fourth before the Saints pulled away for the victory.
BASEBALL
OAK HILL 3, WINTHROP 2, 8 INNINGS: The Raiders (2-4) scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth to defeat the Ramblers (6-2) in Wales.
Catcher Isaac Morisette had two RBIs and one hit for Oak Hill. Landon Bangs also drove in a run. Kyle Delano doubled and singled at the plate and pitched all eight innings to earn the win. He struck out eight batters and allowed only five hits.
The teams were tied 1-1 after seven innings. Winthrop took the lead with a run in the top of the eighth before Oak Hill plated two in the bottom half of the inning to win.
Brayden Stubbert had a double, a single and an RBI for the Ramblers, and Andrew Foster had an RBI of his own. Brayden Branagan scored both Winthrop runs. Foster pitched seven-plus innings, striking out 10 and scattering six hits.
BOYS LACROSSE
OAK HILL/MONMOUTH/LISBON 13, PORTLAND 9: The Raiders (6-0) scored four goals in the first quarter and five in the second en route to a victory over the Bulldogs (2-3) in Wales.
Tiger Hopkins had a game-high four goals for Oak Hill in the win, and Lukas Bergeron and Travis Caron had three goals and one assist each. Nicolas Michaud had nine saves in net for the Raiders.
For Portland, Carlos Braceras had three goals, and Harry Rubin and Jack Watson had two goals each. The Bulldogs also got a goal each from Ben Littell and Brady Toher. Clyde Spencer had 10 saves.
EDWARD LITTLE 10, MCI/NOKOMIS 2: Tyler Smith scored five goals and had four assists for the Red Eddies (1-4) in the win over MCI/Nokomis (0-3) in Newport.
Andrew Clements and Wesley Clements each had two goals for Edward Little. Milo Small also scored in the win.
Camden Roy scored in the first quarter for MCI/Nokomis, and Hunter Simpson scored in the second quarter.
GIRLS LACROSSE
GREELY 11, MESSALONSKEE 1: Carley Ferentz had five goals and an assist as the Rangers (5-1) handled the Eagles (4-2) in Oakland.
Charlotte Taylor added four goals and an assist, Lauren Dennen had two goals and two assists, Jenny Medrano had two assists and Allie Read had an assist for Greely.
