The recent war in Ukraine has highlighted a dire issue for the U.S.: reliance on Russian oil. Energy prices have surged after President Biden’s ban on Russian oil. This dependence on oil has burdened civilians and exacerbated the climate crisis.

A transition to renewable energy would not only lessen this burden, but would also decrease greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to Biden’s goal of 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from 2005 levels by 2030.

In order to support this transition, please ask Reps. Pingree and Golden, and Sens Collins and King to support strong climate legislation such as the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act (H.R. 2307).
