It seems as though after a vehicle has an accident with a power pole, Central Maine Power, or whoever replaces the utility poles, declines to pick up the remaining pieces of the pole and leaves them along side of the road for someone else to hit at a later date.

I have seen instances of this in four or five places close to our residence. Some of these poles that have been hit date back three or four years or so. It would be nice if the people replacing the poles would do their part in getting rid of these eyesores. The same happens when poles are replaced. The old poles are left behind to rot.

We have a bet with our neighbor that the poles that got replaced last year will be still standing for years to come, even though they are no longer being used.
