Director Brandon Chaloux has announced the cast for the upcoming production of “Disaster!,” opening Thursday, April 7, at Community Little Theatre in Auburn. The play is a spin on the disaster movies of the 1970s and includes many hits from that decade including “Knock on Wood,” “Hooked on a Feeling,” “Sky High,” “I Am Woman,” and “Hot Stuff.”
The story takes place in 1979 at the opening celebration of a floating casino and discotheque. The colorful guest list includes the hottest New York A-listers, along with a faded disco star, a sexy nightclub singer with her eleven-year-old twins, a disaster expert, a feminist reporter, an older couple with a secret, a pair of young guys looking for ladies, and a nun with a gambling addiction. What begins as a night of boogie fever quickly changes to panic as the ship succumbs to multiple disasters, including, but not limited to, earthquakes, tidal waves, and infernos.
Cast members are Justin Morin, Connor Davis, Annabeth Treadwell, Jeffrey Fairfield, Dan Kane, Tracy Kuklinski, Marlena Lantos, Danielle Eaton, Ashleigh St. Pierre, Sophie Messina, Gregory Judd, Jennifer Fox, Ansley Watson, Renee Davis, John B. Nutting, Walks Tall Keith, and Alex Venturelli.
The show will be performed April 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 16 at 7:30 p.m.; and April 10 and 17 at 2 p.m. Call 207-783-0958 or visit LACLT.com for tickets or more information, including CLT’s COVID policies.
