SIDNEY — Maine Arts Academy musical theater students plan to present their annual musical theater night at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 22.
The performance is to be held at Alumni Hall on the MeAA campus, 11 Goldenrod Lane.
The event will feature performances of excerpts from the musical “A New Brain.”
The event is free for all guests.
“A lot of what we do in our class is focusing on the enhanced type of story telling that occurs through song,” said Gregory Judd, MeAA Musical Theater’s director, according to a news release from the academy. “Rather than just performing a musical, we use it as a vessel for our learning.”
The school’s program focuses on a “show study,” which involves the class choosing a musical and taking a dive look into it, exploring characters, plot relationships, and learning various selections that will be performed by students during the event.
