WATERVILLE — Joshua Henry, founder and CEO of TimberHP GO Lab, is scheduled to speak at a luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, at Amici’s Cucina, 137 Main St.
Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce and KV Connect are co-hosting the leadership luncheon.
Henry is the driving force behind this privately-held, Maine-based building products corporation, founded in 2017 to develop and manufacture wood fiber insulation for the residential and light commercial construction markets, according to a news release from the chamber.
Wood fiberboard, batt, blown-in high-performance insulation products are vapor open, renewable, recyclable, non-toxic, carbon sequestering, and, when manufactured in America, will be cost-competitive with other popular insulation products.
In 2023, GO Lab plans to become the first company to make wood fiber insulation in North America at its manufacturing facility in Madison.
Henry is a materials chemist. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry from Carleton College in 2000 and his doctorate in physical chemistry from Cornell University in 2005. He is the recipient of the National Science Foundation’s International Research Fellowship and, prior to co-founding GO Lab, was a faculty member in the chemistry departments of Bates College in Lewiston, and the University of Maine in Orono.
The luncheon costs $25 per person for members, and $30 at the door and for nonmembers. Lunch is included.
Major sponsors of the luncheons are Kennebec Savings Bank and Central Maine Growth Council. Additional sponsors are Kennebec Valley Council of Governments and the Department of Economic & Community Development.
