WINTHROP — Matt Beck scored 13 points to lead the Winthrop boys basketball team to a 49-48 win over Mountain Valley in a Mountain Valley Conference game on Thursday.
Andrew Foster added 11 points for Winthrop (11-3).
Airick Richard led the Falcons (6-8) with 24 points, while Zach New added 11 points.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 66, WINSLOW 40: Trevor Brown poured in 27 points as the Panthers (13-3) topped the Black Raiders (11-4) in Waldoboro.
Patrick McKenney had 10 points and eight assists for Medomak Valley. Jacob Craig scored 11 points, and Jaiden Starr finished with eight points and five steals.
Winslow was led by Jason Reynolds with 14 points. Nicholas Girard scored 12.

FOREST HILLS 75, PINE TREE ACADEMY 39: Mason Desjardins scored 31 points and had seven assists to lead the Tigers to an East/West win over the Breakers in Jackman.
Desjardins is closing in on 1,000 career points, sitting at 997 after Thursday’s game.
Jackman Daigle had 16 points and eight steals, while Blaine Nadeau added 10 points for Forest Hills (16-0).
Silas Yeaton led Pine Tree (5-9) with 13 points, while Benjamin Ndamukuna added 12 points.

RANGELEY 67, VINALHAVEN 42: The Lakers (3-7) erupted with 19 points in the fourth quarter and Trevor Dolbier and Boden Washington each scored 17 points in a victory over the Vikings (3-4) in Rangeley.
Chase Carmichael helped out 13 points for Rangeley.
Vinalhaven’s Sam Wentworth scored the team-high 11 points.

ERSKINE ACADEMY 49, CONY 33: Emily Clark scored 18 points and Mackenzie Roderick added 15 points to lead the Eagles to a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A win over the Rams in South China.
Emma Stred added six points for Erskine (7-8).
Indiya Clarke led Cony (10-5) with 10 points, while Maci Freeman added six points.

CHEVERUS/OLD ORCHARD BEACH/KENNEBUNK/WINDHAM 5, ST. DOMINIC/WINTHROP/GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER/MONMOUTH 1: Cheverus/Old Orchard Beach/Kennebunk/Windham scored three goals in the first period to help cruise past St. Dominic/Winthrop/Gray-NG/Monmouth at Troubh Ice Arena in Portland.
Brynne McKenney, Olivia Bradford, Elle Cooney, Charlotte Miller and Lucy Johnson each netted one goal for Cheverus/Old Orchard Beach/Kennebunk/Windham. Ella Lemieux racked up nine saves.
Gabrielle Allen was assisted by Emma Roy for St. Dominic/Winthrop/Gray-NG/Monmouth’s goal. Aubrey White made 15 saves.
