PITTSFIELD — Challenger Eric Saucier won a seat Tuesday on the Town Council representing District 4 by defeating incumbent Heather Donahue, according to results released by the town.
Saucier won the race 198 to 130. Donahue is the town’s mayor, a position that’s chosen from among the council members.
Before the election, Saucier, a second-generation Pittsfield resident, said he wants to see improvements in town infrastructure and recreational opportunities.
Also on the ballot Tuesday was an at-large council seat, which incumbent Michael Cianchette won with 814 votes. He ran unopposed.
The District 1 seat was up for election as well, although no candidates filed papers for the position. The town clerk must confirm if a write-in candidate is interested in the position.
If none of the write-in candidates are interested, the seat will remain vacant unless the council votes to hold a special election later.
On the Maine School Administrative District 53 board of directors, incumbent Chris Weymouth won his election with 879 votes. The other seat on the board is vacant and no other candidates filed papers for the seat.
