My husband and I have lived in Augusta for many years. I have three children who were born here and graduated from Cony High School. My youngest is graduating from Cony this year. We love Augusta and appreciate its rich heritage. We are also concerned about Augusta’s future and maintaining that rich heritage.
We now have two candidates in the race for mayor of our beautiful Augusta but only one real choice: Marci Alexander! I want a mayor who has demonstrated a commitment to respecting our unique heritage and keeping families together.
Marci has been going to community events for years. Always making a point to participate in our community. For example, Marci just recently went to the Club Calumet 99-year anniversary dinner with my mother-in-law. They had a great time! Joking and laughing with the “girls.” Then this past weekend Marci and her husband Troy played in the charity pétanque tournament at Mill Park. A week before that Marci was at the Recovery Out Loud event in Mill Park.
When not going to community events, working and performing council duties, she spends time with her family. That’s why she ran in the first place, to keep her family near. I want my family near too, as they grow up. I know that unless we embrace change and move Augusta forward our children will move away.
I’m voting for Marci Alexander, if you want to move Augusta forward, you should vote for her too!
