WATERVILLE — A 15-year-old from Skowhegan who was involved in a brief pursuit and an automobile crash last Friday has been charged with operating without a license, failure to stop and criminal mischief, according to police.
The incident began last Friday at about 9:30 p.m. when a Waterville police officer saw a black SUV on College Avenue operating with its taillights off, according to Chief Joseph Massey of the Waterville Police Department.
The SUV did not stop for police and was able to evade an officer on several side streets and then again on Drummond Avenue. Soon after, the SUV crashed into several parked cars in Fairfield, during which the young driver suffered minor injuries.
Massey said investigators have identified others who were in the SUV but have not charged them.
