Dono and Abbott promoted at Kennebec Savings Bank
Kevin Dono and Amy Abbott are moving up at Kennebec Savings Bank. Dono is the new senior vice president and chief information officer. In that job, he will oversee information technology, information and physical security, vendor management, deposit operations and business innovation. Prior to joining KSB a year and a half ago, Dono worked at Quorum Federal Credit Union in New York. He has a background in software development and project management.
Abbott, previously a customer care and loan representative, has been promoted to branch manager. She was in the Kennebec Leadership Institute Class XXXII and volunteers as a coach and board member in her community soccer program.
Petroska appointed head of UMF Early College Program
Kirsten Petroska has been appointed as the new full-time director of the University of Maine Farmington’s Early College Partnerships program. Early College is a program that allows high school and home-schooled students to earn college credits and initiate a college transcript while still in high school. It is run in partnership with the Maine Department of Education.
Petroska comes to UMF from the Oxford Hills-Nezinscot Adult Education program, where she taught for the past eight years. During that time, she earned her master’s degree in adult and higher education. She is a 2011 UMF graduate.
UCP of Maine Expands Offices to College Place in Waterville
UCP of Maine, an organization that serves people with disabilities, has expanded its offices. The new office is at College Place in Waterville, located on 32 College Avenue, and will offer outpatient mental-health services along with children’s and adult case management.
Kavanagh promoted at Maine State Credit Union
Adam Kavanagh is the new senior vice president and chief operations officer at the Maine State Credit Union. As the COO, he will oversee information technology and security, risk management, and the mobile and online banking platforms.
Kavanagh has been part of the credit union movement for over a decade and has been at Maine State Credit Union for six years. He started as a risk manager and was the operations manager before his promotion to Chief Operating Officer.
He takes part in Maine State Credit Union’s ending hunger program.
Five new board members join JMG
JMG has appointed five new members to its board of directors to help advance its mission to ensure all Maine students have an equal opportunity to succeed in school, in careers, and in their communities. Lisa Larson, the president of Eastern Maine Community College, joins the board along with Kenden Alfond, psychotherapist; Cari Medd, the principal of Poland Regional High School; Tihtiyas “Dee” Sabattus, the director of Passamaquoddy Health Center; and, Matt Gilbert, the principal of Mountain Valley High School in Rumford.
