Winslow High School has announced its top 10 seniors for the class of 2021. The students are listed in alphabetical order.

Werkay Benson Contributed photo

Werkay Benson is the daughter of Jackson and Kay Benson of Winslow. She has been involved with field hockey, soccer, as well as indoor track and field where she earned her varsity letter. When she is not involved in athletics, Benson’s many activities include drama, Movie Club, and Anime Club.

After graduation, she plans to attend the University of Maine at Orono, where she will major in chemical engineering.

Grace Bilodeau Contributed photo

Grace Bilodeau is the daughter of Laurie and Chris Bilodeau of Winslow. During her four years at Winslow High, she has been involved with the W Club, and is also the senior class treasurer. This year, she served as a senior captain in both the girl’s varsity soccer and varsity ice hockey teams. She was awarded the 2021 Hobey Baker character award.

Bilodeau plans to attend the University of New Hampshire in the fall, where she will major in business administration and marketing.

Megan Cates Contributed photo

Megan Cates is the daughter of Jessica Cates of Winslow. She has been active in drama all four years of high school, and is a member of the art club. This is her third year being involved with the Thespian society, currently serving as the club’s secretary. Through her experience, she has earned various art awards for theatre, as well as the National Honor Society book award.

Cates plans on attending the University of Maine at Farmington in the fall, where she will major in psychology.

Elianna Dow Contributed photo

Elliana Dow is the daughter of Mandy and Cory Dow of China. Through her time at Winslow, her activities have included drama, band, art club, Black Raider News, Computer Club, HOBY, Seeds of Peace, dance, and the girls’ lacrosse team. She has served as Student Senate treasurer, and been a member of the Olympia Snowe Women’s leadership Institute, the Kennebec Valley Honors band, and the gifted and talented program. She has earned various honors, including the Xerox Award, National Honor Society, and the International Thespian Society.

After graduation, Dow plans to attend Hofstra University, where she will study video, television and film.

Jennifer Ferry Contributed photo

Jennifer Ferry is the daughter of John and Beth Ferry of Winslow. During her four years at Winslow, she has been involved in athletics and activities. She served as a senior captain for varsity soccer and basketball, as well as being a strong contributor to the outdoor track team. Ferry is currently senior class president, the student senate vice president, and a member of the National honor society. She has earned various honors, including the Daughters of the American Revolution Good citizen award, the Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony Award through the University of Rochester, and was a member of the McDonald’s All-Academic team for basketball.

Ferry plans to attend Bowdoin College in the fall, where she will study psychology and education.

Cassidy McIntire is the daughter of Hilary and Joe McIntire of Winslow. She has been heavily involved with drama, where she has served as the president of the Thespian Society along with earning various art awards for drama in competition plays. She is a member of the varsity softball team and a member of the National honors society.

McIntire plans to attend the University of Maine at Orono in the fall, where she will major in nursing.

Kaylee Nadeau Contributed photo

Kaylee Nadeau is the daughter of Amy Nadeau of Winslow. She has been involved in drama, earning various drama awards and recognitions. She has also served as a co-president of the National Honor Society her senior year, as well as the vice president of the International Thespian Society.

Nadeau plans to attend the Maine College of Art to pursue her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in illustration.

Paige Spears Contributed photo

Paige Spears is the daughter of Yvette and Chris Bernier of Winslow, and Jason Spears of Waterville. She was a contributing member of the track team and the cross country team, where she earned the girls’ cross country coach’s award. She was selected by faculty to be the student of the month. Spears was active in the Black Raider news club, Movie Club, Civil Rights Club, and the art club, where she was selected for the Winslow Art Award.

Spears plans to attend the University of Maine at Orono in the fall, where she will study studio art.

Abigail Thibodeau Contributed photo

Abigail Thibodeau is the daughter of Shannon Gogan of Waterville. She has been active in cheerleading since the beginning of her time at Winslow. She served as a senior captain on the cheerleading team for both fall and winter cheering, where she earned a KVAC all-academic award. She is also a member of the girls’ tennis team in the spring. She is an active member of the student senate and was inducted into the National Honor Society.

Thibodeau plans to attend the University of Maine at Orono in the fall while pursuing a major in political science.

Olivia Tiner Contributed photo

Olivia Tiner is the daughter of Jeff and Susan Tiner of Winslow. Through her time at Winslow, she has earned several recognitions and awards through athletic involvement in cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track, including girls cross country runner of the year for two years. She has also earned many academic awards and recognitions, including the Daughters of the American Revolution Jenny Paine Howard Award, Bauch and Lomb Honorary Service award, and the Maine Section of the Society of Women Engineers Certificate of Achievement. She has been a class officer all four years, serving as a co-president for the National Honors Society, attended Seeds of Peace, and volunteers countless hours through various groups.

Tiner plans to join the U.S. Naval Academy in the fall, while majoring in engineering.
