FAYETTE — Kennebec Land Trust’s Parker Pond Headland Preserve, located on Fellows Cove Road, is temporarily closed to hikers during mud season, which continues through April or May.
The road is only open to homeowners to minimize the impacts on the road.
During mud season, the trust recommends hikers instead visit the nearby Torsey Pond Nature Preserve or Rosmarin & Saunders Family Forest in Readfield, or Hutchinson Pond in Manchester. People are asked to stay off trails when they are muddy.
