Sweden Food Pantry has purchased a used van to replace the aging vehicles of their volunteers. Made possible with a grant from Good Shepherd Food, Bank of Maine and a donation from the Sweden Community Church, the van was previously owned by a local camp. It has 50,000 miles logged. Linda Bradley, Sweden Food Pantry director, said, “Now we will be protected from the snow, rain, sleet and hail when picking up food and delivering produce to the pantry.” The pantry, in the Sweden Community Church, 137 Bridgton Road, is open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays, serving families from Sweden, Waterford, Fryeburg, Lovell, Stow, Stoneham and Bridgton.
