The next program in the Food For Thought series will feature Jean Flahive and Phil Morse discussing the book, “Teddy Roosevelt, Millie, and the Elegant Ride,” online on Zoom at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17, hosted by USM LA Senior College in Lewiston.

Based on a true encounter, author Jean Flahive tells of a young farm girl from Gray who meets Teddy Roosevelt, a passenger on the Narcissus, an electric trolley that once ran between Lewiston and Portland. Today, the Narcissus is being restored at the Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport. Phil Morse is the project manager of this restoration. Together they will detail the history including the Lewiston connections.

The presentation is free and open to the public. To attend, email laseniorcollege@gmail.com by 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16, and an email with the link for the program will be sent on the morning of the event.

USM LA Senior College is located at 51 Westminster St., Lewiston.
