CONWAY, S.C.— Billie Rogers, of Avon, an anthropology and geography major at Coastal Carolina University, was awarded recognition as the Outstanding Sophomore by the Department of Anthropology and Geography April 25 during a Student Achievement Award ceremony, according to a news release from the university.

Rogers studies in the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Art.

The Edwards College is one of five colleges at Coastal and houses more than a dozen majors, five graduate programs and more than 20 minors. Coastal Carolina University is a public comprehensive liberal arts institution located in Conway, just minutes from the resort area of Myrtle Beach, S.C.
