Waterville Senior High School has announced its top 10 seniors for the class of 2019. Students are listed by honors.

Kai Rabideau is graduating first in the WSHS class of 2019 with an unweighted grade point average of 98.89.

He is a member of the Math Team, Green Team, Pep Band, Jazz Band, Pit Orchestra, National Honor Society, baseball team, and indoor track team (captain). He was a two-time letter winner in indoor track and baseball.

Rabideau volunteers at the Evening Sandwich Program, the Mid-Maine Homeless Shelter, and has raised money for the Walk for Warmth that provides heating assistance to those in need. He is undecided about his college choice, but plans to attend a four-year college in the fall.

He is the son of Joseph and Maureen Rabideau.

Carter Jones is graduating second in the WSHS class of 2019 with an unweighted GPA of 98.17.

He is a member of the Math Team, Science Olympiad, drama, Pep Band, Tri-M Music Honor Society, National Honor Society and swim team, where he broke the school 100m butterfly record. He is an AP Scholar, Presidential Scholar nominee, National Merit Scholar nominee, and was presented with a Phi Beta Kappa Award.

He has spent time throughout his high school years volunteering as a coach and as a tutor.

Jones plans to attend Purdue University in the fall. He is the son of Scott and Julianne Jones.

Eban Charles is graduating third in the WSHS class of 2019 with an unweighted GPA of 95.94.

He is a member of the varsity soccer team, Math Team, Orchestra, basketball team, and Green Team. He was recognized with a Bowdoin College Book Award, recognized with a KVAC All-Academic Award, and was a high honor roll student throughout his time at WSHS.

In addition to time he spends working, he has found time to volunteer at the Albert S. Hall School assisting their homework club, and tutoring WSHS students.

Charles plans to attend Bowdoin College in the fall. He is the son of Christopher and Katherine Tredeau.

Gabriel Ferris is graduating fourth in the WSHS class of 2019 with an unweighted GPA of 95.81.

He is a member of the National Honor Society (president), Panther Post (editor), Green Team (president), Nautilus Yearbook (co-editor), and Student Council. He achieved first place in the National Letters About Literature Contest, was awarded a Waterville School Board Award for Academic Excellence, was awarded a WSHS Community Learning Award, and was recognized with a Renaissance Award for Academic Achievement.

He has volunteered at the Evening Sandwich Program, the Walk for Warmth, Maine Public, the Town of Winslow, and and various school-based programs. Ferris worked with the Scholastic News Kids Press Corps as a kid reporter. Among the notable people he interviewed are First Lady Michelle Obama, President Donald Trump, and Buzz Aldrin.

Ferris plans to attend American University in Washington, D.C. in the fall. He is the son of Joyce Galea-Sturtevant and Tom Sturtevant.

Conrad Ayers is graduating fifth in the WSHS class of 2019 with an unweighted GPA of 95.35.

He is a member of the varsity soccer team, varsity tennis team, Green Team, Math Team, Science Olympiad, and Junior Classical League. He was class officer (2nd vice-president), a member of the National Honor Society, and was a Homeroom Buddy. He was a Saint Michael’s Book Award winner and selected to the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference First Team for Tennis (first doubles).

He participated in various community service projects including helping clean-up Waterville downtown and volunteering in the WSHS Media Center.

Ayers plans to attend Colby College in the fall. He is the son of Andrew and Julie (Letourneau) Ayers.

Adam Livshits is graduating sixth in the WSHS class of 2019 with an unweighted GPA of 94.92.

He is a member of the varsity soccer team, varsity tennis team, Math Team, Science Olympiad, Pep Band, and Drama (backstage technician). He was a member of the National Honor Society, and was a Homeroom Buddy. He was awarded a Renaissance Award for Academics, a United States Marine Corps Scholastic Excellence Award, and selected to the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference First Team for Tennis (first doubles).

He volunteered in his free time by tutoring WSHS students.

Livshits plans to attend McGill University in the fall. He is the son of Leo Livshits and Rebecca Green.

Madeleine Hallen is graduating seventh in the WSHS class of 2019 with an unweighted GPA of 94.86.

She is a member of the varsity soccer team, outdoor track team, Science Olympiad, Math Team, Pit Orchestra, and Yearbook. She was a member of the National Honor Society and Key Club.

She volunteered her time helping in Mid-Maine Regional Adult Community Education, in Walk for Warmth to raise funds for heating oil assistance, and assisted with the local Father-Daughter dance. In addition to her studies and extracurricular involvement, she worked at Colby College doing research in an Organic Chemistry Lab.

Hallen plans to attend Tufts University in the fall. She is the daughter of Peter and Lisa Hallen.

Merline Feero is graduating eighth in the WSHS class of 2019 with an unweighted GPA of 94.23.

She is a member of the varsity cross-country team, varsity track team, Jazz Band, Pit Orchestra, Science Olympiad, Tri-M Music Honor Society, and Green Team. She was a member of the National Honor Society and was a Homeroom Buddy. She was selected as an All-State representative, was a PSAT National Merit Commended Student, was awarded a Smith College Book Award, and was awarded a Society of Women Engineers Excellence in Mathematics Award.

She volunteered at the Waterville Humane Society and at the Healthy Northern Kennebec SNAP Education Program in her spare time.

Ferro plans to attend Bowdoin College in the fall. She is the daughter of William and Linda (Schumacher) Feero.

Elwin Moss is graduating ninth in the WSHS class of 2019 with an unweighted GPA of 94.07.

Much of his after-school time was devoted to participating in Drama. He played leading roles in the WSHS Fall Musical and the WSHS One-Act Festival in the Spring. His acting skills were recognized by judges as he was honored with an All Festival Cast Award for his role in the 2017 WSHS One Act Play, “Chemical Imbalance.”

Moss plans to attend the University of Maine in the fall. He is the son of Howard and Anne Moss.

Brock Jolicoeur is graduating 10th in the WSHS class of 2019 with an unweighted GPA of 93.95.

He was a member of the golf team, Jazz Band, Pep Band, Science Olympiad, Math Team, hockey team (captain), and baseball. He was a member of the National Honor Society, and was a Homeroom Buddy. He was awarded a Xerox Award for Innovation and Information Technology, a Renaissance Award for Academics, and a “Shine on Cass” Award for his volunteer work.

He volunteers as a mentor for the Big Brother/Big Sister Program at the Waterville YMCA, and assists at Mid-Maine Regional Adult Community Education.

Jolicoeur plans to attend Worcester Polytechnic Institute in the fall. He is the son of Jeffrey and Joanne Jolicoeur.
