I am writing in support of L.D. 820, and to urge Rep. Bruce White, D-Waterville, to vote yes. L.D. 820 requires coverage of legal abortion for public and private insurance if the insurance plan covers prenatal care.

I believe that people should be able to make their own decisions about their medical treatment. Denying insurance coverage for people who cannot afford an abortion imposes these insurance companies into the private medical decisions of Maine people and their doctors.

I urge Rep. White to side with his constituents and the ability to make their own choices about their bodies.
