Lincoln County Historical Association is scheduling volunteer tour guides and greeters for the 2019 season.
Those who would like to learn more about the tales these landmarks have to tell or if you simply enjoy meeting people, this is a great opportunity. Individuals could start as a greeter, registering visitors and chatting with them when another tour is in progress. After a while you might decide to lead tours, although that is not mandatory.
The association maintains three historic house museums: The Pownalborough Court House in Dresden, the Old jail in Wiscasset and the Chapman-Hall House in Damariscotta.
LCHA tour guides and greeters typically spend spend four or six hours a day, twice a month in June, July, August and September. All three sites are open on Saturdays and Sundays; the Pownalborough Court House in Dresden is also open Tuesday through Friday during July and August.
