CONWAY, S.C. —Billie Rogers, an anthropology and geography major from Avon, is one of more than 100 students at Coastal Carolina University working with University Housing as resident advisers, or RAs, serving as live-in peer leaders and role models for the residents of a specific floor, wing or building.

RAs participate in many hours of specialized training and work hard to create strong communities that enhance the on-campus living experience. They answer questions about the campus and residential facilities; help residents with community, personal and academic concerns; mediate group conflicts that may arise; coordinate programs and activities; and enforce university policies.
