AUGUSTA — A West Gardiner woman out on bail on heroin trafficking charges was arrested Friday after allegedly selling cocaine — twice — to an informant working with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Megan Shockley, 25, now faces new charges of two counts of unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs, cocaine base.

She was arrested Friday in Manchester after a traffic stop. She made her initial court appearance, by video from Kennebec County jail, on the new charges Monday. She was ordered held without bail, pending a hearing.

Shockley allegedly sold cocaine base, also known as crack cocaine, to a confidential informant working with the MDEA, Jan. 14 and Jan. 16 in Gardiner. Those alleged sales took place while she was out on bail on previous drug trafficking charges, according to an affidavit filed by Nathan Walker, a special agent with the state drug enforcement agency.

In the Jan. 14 incident, Shockley is accused of selling 0.6 grams of cocaine, for $100, to an informant who met up with her at Family Dollar on Water Street in Gardiner.

On Jan. 16, the affidavit states, an informant again purchased 0.6 grams of cocaine base from Shockley for $100 in the parking lot of Tiger Town Beverage on Maine Avenue in Gardiner.

Shockley, according to court documents, had an initial appearance on a charge of aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs and unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs Dec. 3, 2018, and she was released with bail conditions including that she not use or possess illegal drugs.

The previous charge for which Shockley was out on bail, according to a probable cause affidavit from Walker, stem from a Maine State Police arrest in November 2018 in York County for, allegedly, being found in possession of 22 “fingers” of heroin weighing 227 grams.

She has also been charged with two counts of violating conditions of release.

Stephen Bourget, acting as attorney of the day Monday, reserved the right for Shockley, through an attorney to be appointed to her by the court, to argue for bail.
