UNION — Vose Library will host complementary classes for children to study Maine’s Bark and Buds at the library at 392 Common Road.

University of Maine 4-H’s Kathryn Jensen will talk about our natural world and the anticipation of spring and the awakening of Maine’s forest and landscape at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12. Children will work with Jensen to study the observational connections between organisms and their environment.Robin Huntley, M.Ed., will join Vose from Dirigo Learning to conduct a hands-on museum curation workshop, guiding students in collecting and labeling specimens to create the library’s Bark and Buds Hands-on Museum at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16.  This museum will be on display for one month in the Children’s Room.

Those who attend are encouraged to dress warm, weather permitting. These classes will be held outdoors.
