SALEM — Summer Ross got just what she needed to reach a milestone Wednesday night.

Ross scored 19 points to reach exactly 1,000 for her career, and the Mt. Abram girls basketball team rolled to a 52-36 win over Madison in a Mountain Valley Conference contest.

Kaylee Knight added 11 points to help the Roadrunners (5-7) hold off the Bulldogs.

Katheryn Worthen led Madison (5-7) with 18 points.

WINTHROP 59, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 47: Aaliyah WilsonFalcone had 17 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Ramblers (10-1) to an MVC victory.

Kena Souza and Jillian Schmelzer added nine points apiece for Winthrop, which saw the Phoenix (7-5) close to within seven points in the fourth before pulling away.

Haley Turcotte led Spruce Mountain with 13 points.

TEMPLE 47, BUCKFIELD 39: The Bereans used a big third quarter to pull ahead and hold on for the Class D win in Waterville.

Deleyni Carr led the way with 15 points for Temple (8-3) while Hannah Hubbard scored 12.

Buckfield (4-5) was led by Hannah Shields with a game-high 20 points.

HEBRON 44, KENTS HILL 21: Lauren Murray scored 10 points, but it wasn’t enough for the Huskies, who fell to the Lumberjacks in Kents Hill.

Jarni Hewins added eight points for Kents Hill (0-5).

Allyson Walsh led Hebron (7-1) with 13 points, while Reily New added 12 points.

HALL-DALE 54, MONMOUTH 51: Iris Ireland had a game-high 24 points and 18 rebounds to lead Hall-Dale to a 54-51 victory over Monmouth Academy in girls’ basketball action Wednesday.

KK Wills also made an impact for the Bulldogs (7-4), scoring 21 points.

Katie Harris led the Mustangs (8-4) with 12 points, while Emma Johnson added 11 and Kaeti Butterfield had 10.

BOYS BASKETBALL

TEMPLE 54, BUCKFIELD 41: Nathan Riportella had 17 points and Nathaniel Wiles scored 11 to lead the Bereans (8-3) to the East/West Conference victory in Waterville.

Zack Wiles and Nicholas Blaisdell had six points apiece for Temple.

Tyler Gammon scored 20 points for the Bucks (3-8).
